AVX was formerly Aerovox, before they sold part of the company off. After this, they renamed the remaining capacitor division as AVX. AVX then bought Corning’s glass-capacitor division, in the 1980’s (which is when most of these AVX catalogs were published). AVX is based in South Carolina, less than 50 miles from my location!
