NOS Mullard/Philips MiniWatt 0.15 uF 400V (~1%) Mustard Capacitor

Here we have one of the rarest capacitors in my collection, the 0.15uF 400V Mullard MiniWatt! The MiniWatt brand is most well known for their Ultra Premium line of electron tubes. They also had other component lines under the MiniWatt flag, such as mustard capacitors.

This capacitor tested exceedingly well, from the ESR to the Q-Factor. Even the capacitance is still within the 10% spec, 1.17% accuracy. Q-Factor never drops below 298. ESR trend is in the range expected, for this capacitance. The Currvent vs. Voltage (I/V) curve is very good, keeping in mind the lower the capacitance, the less “tall” the curve will be. Leakage current measures 250V/127MΩ = 1.969 uA. 

Some of these Mullard/Philips mustard caps seem to hold up really well, but others are prone to surface cracks and much lower Q-Ratings (due to tilt in the ESR curve). I am sure the fact this is a 400V part helps it to hold up, both internally and externally. Only a very select few of the MiniWatts I had on hand made it through all my testing, these are the cherry picks.

Valid Reasons for Returning:

Capacitance is off by more than 10-20% (or whatever the cap spec is)
ESR is at least 20% higher that I reported, remembering to use the same test frequency and a calibrated meter.
Capacitor was damaged during shipping.
Capacitor won’t fit into your location.
You bought a voltage or capacitance value that you can’t use, assuming you didn’t install it, you can return it.
You experience any audible distortion with your new capacitor, I’ll let you swap it or return it. As long as the cap isn’t damaged (electrically) when I get it back.

For customers inside the USA, I do 60 days for NOS items and 30 days for re-certified items! Return shipping will be paid by customer.

 For International buyers I do 30 days on both NOS and re-certified items. Return shipping must be paid by the customer.
