As I mentioned in the previous article, I will use EBay as a vintage or high end/HiFi electronic components supplier when I see a deal. I have bought many lots that contained a lot of parts for a discount, but never at this scale. Below I have copied the information given on the Ebay ad detailing some of the parts included. Some may find the sale price of $120 as a high value, but when you do the math and estimate maybe 20,000 resistors, that is less than a half of $0.01 (1 cent) per resistor! These resistors are worth much more than that, especially if used appropriately.
One example of a usage for these: guitar treble bleed kits! Treble bleeds aren’t something new, but they are useful and are just a high quality, low capacitance value capacitor in parallel with a good resistor. It is good to pick your resistor value to be half that of the volume pot you are installing it onto. My Schecter Tempest Custom uses two 500k volume pots, so I went with a 250k ohm resistor values. Treble bleeds are meant to help limit the high frequency roll off typical heard as a guitar volume is lowered the top end seems to disappear or become faint. The right treble bleed combo of high a quality cap with the correct value resistors can fix this issue.
The big thing that set this resistor lot apart from the rest, besides the sheer size, is the variety of values. We have resistors starting at 2.4 ohms going up to 1 mega ohm all with decent to excellent quantity! All of these are high precision, low noise, High Freq circuit applicable. Most of these are the RN55C type from Vishay, the RN Military Spec. (flameproof) Metal Film design. Below you can see the list for some of the resistors included in this huge lot! This list contains approximate values (based on weight and my knowledge of the quantity) for the majority of the bulk resistors in packages on the board. The majority (brown) are RN55C FSCJ. Information about them is included in the beginning. A few Established Reliability marked with traceable numbers for military use are included. The assortment of the 4W-10W+ Dale Resistors RS types is very loosely estimated. Many other parts are not listed. However, I wanted to provide a general list of the variety of values and the quantity received because the image can be deceptive.

If the S reliability is listed in the line, then that resistor group was tested as Established reliability for the S failure rate. Almost all if not all of the RN55 resistors are S-level failure ratings, but not fit the additional qualified testing to be considered “Established”.
Where quantity is missing, it is likely the row is next to the same value and these were added together.Type CF = Carbon Film.
