In the next hour or two a group of myself and a few buddies, some of whom I have been playing PC games with some for roughly half my life (~15 years). Imagine the number of games, operating systems, hardware, jobs/schools that change in that period of time. Once PC gamers find their crowd they usually stick with the same people unless something happens and I ended up with a good group.
