I have the ES9038Pro DAC playing both DSD/DSF and the more well known, high res capable codec, FLAC. Except on this DAC it goes up to 32 bits and 384 kHz!! Not to mention you can play all audio codecs in DSD native through a foobar2000 plug-in conversion.
I have placed a piece of paper that was cut to size to represent the footprint of available space beside the DAC’s large PCB. I will be drilling a hole a 4mm hole in the bottom of the case that is marked with a center punch. Then I will be using a 4mm bolt and 4mm nuts. Also the “Green Cube” is sitting on a round piece of rubber to lift it well away from places to make contact. I had to build a simple circuit to allow me to use this transformer in the enclosure. If anyone would like to see close up pictures of what I did just shoot me a message at the contact tab.
I drill 2 different holes for this sealed/potted transformer, one is 4mm and the other is a 5/16 bit. Using these two different size bits I can form what is called a countersunk hole and it will hide the end of the bolt that is inside the transformer. When you flip it over there will be a large hole, but it will be flush when the bolt is inside.
With this garbage disposal rubber gasket elevating the transformer I can tighten the bolt into the bottom of the transformer and you tighten until it’s snug. If you use a rubber grommet/seal like I did, you will feel the transformer start moving as the rubber condenses, don’t over tighten!
