I was excited to see Orange Amplification’s Dual-DIP discrete op amp arrive!! This looks more like Burson’s previous generations (V2 & V3) with the discrete circuitry exposed. I will be interested to see how Orange’s discrete compares to Burson’s 5th generation design.

The only issue is that my FiiO E12 DIY had to be sent off for repairs (I didn’t have the time to troubleshoot and it is still under warranty), so I don’t have a device that uses a single Dual-DIP op amp. I was hoping to receive two of these for running in my Creative ZXR, but I will make do with what I have. I can always run this on the left channel and Burson’s on the right, but I will be trying to acquire two of these babies for a real comparison.

The Burson V5-OPA vs. Orange’s discrete op amp battle is almost ready to begin.
